What is the cost for a website?
Cost depends on the size and type of website you are planning.
For the site Design & Coding:
The sites I've completed range in total price from $100 to $5,000. A simple site like www.whiteorchidbridalservices.com with just three pages of pictures and text with no commerce will cost approximately $250 to design & code. A complex site with a fancy flash intro, 30+ pages, Video & Audio samples and complex graphics like www.michelerundgren.com is more in the $5,000 range. The key to keeping your site costs down is in preplanning. Initial consultations are free.
Future Changes:
I charge my hourly rate for changes after the site is completed. If a change is very simple (rate change, etc.) and requires less than 15 minutes, there is no charge.
Reoccurring Monthly Fees:
The costs for hosting are paid directly by you to the hosting company of your choice. Lolouila does not provide hosting or domain name registration services.

What do you need from me and how long will it take?
After our initial free consultation where we discuss your vision and requirements for your website, I require a $300-$500 deposit to start. If you are planning a very simple site this can be adjusted.
You will need to provide me with the pictures and text, an outline or flowchart of the pages in the site and how they are connected/linked. See sample flowchart for this site FLOWCHART.
Completing a typical website like this one (lolouila.com) requires approximately 10 hours of my time. If you have a very clear vision of what you want, provide me with web-ready pictures and electronic text coding your site will be completed very quickly.

Domain Names & Hosting
I will help you get your domain name and set up your hosting, but I do not provide these services.
Your hosting and domain name fees will be paid by you directly to the name registrar (register.com) and hosting company you choose.

Flash vs HTML
Macromedia Flash is an animation program. HTML, Hyper Text Markup Language, is the computer language that websites are written in. Most of my sites are a combination of flash and html. Html sites are generally better for search engine placement and are easily seen by all computers. Flash requires the user has flash installed on their computer. Flash has very cool features like animation, difficult to duplicate with only html. This site is a combination of the two on all pages except this faq page which is exclusively html.
Can I make changes to my site myself?
Yes. After your site is completed, I provide you with all the necessary files, including photoshop source files, usernames & passwords, etc. so that you or another web designer of your choice can make changes or re-design the site easily and efficiently.
I am also happy to teach you web design.
Here is a good HTML Tutorial if you are interested in learning more about website coding.

I highly recommend using a secure shopping cart service. They charge a percentage fee, but this fee is much less than the cost of designing a safe, secure shopping cart experience for your clients.
